About the Author

Yvonne Spear Perret has chronicled the rich and distinctive culture of New Orleans for over 40 years. Through features published in the Times-Picayune, New Orleans Magazine, USA Today, the Christian Science Monitor, and Gambit, she has shared the city's stories with both local and national audiences.
She continues to celebrate New Orleans culture in four full-length books. The most recent, My NOLA Dog, celebrates our cherished canine

companions who share our love of the city and eagerly join us in living New Orleans life to the fullest.

Perret was born and raised in New Orleans. She graduated Magna cum Laude from Tulane University and spent 25 years as a high school educator and principal.
